Why rescue food?

  • Some 815 million people in the world suffer from chronic hunger
  • Between 1.3 and 1.6 billion tons of food are wasted worldwide every year.
  • In Panama, we throw away more than 350 tons of food every day without thinking twice about it.
  • Worldwide, 1/3 of arable land is on the verge of collapse
  • A significant drop (up to 25%) in staple food production is expected by 2030.
