Mides, UTP and Fundación Rescate de Alimentos sign collaboration agreement

Milagros Ramos Castro, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Social Development (Mides) on behalf of Minister María Inés Castillo, participated in the signing of the Collaboration Agreement together with Héctor Montemayor, Rector of Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá (UTP) and Hernán Correa, President of Fundación Rescate de Alimentos Panamá.

Mides commits that, once the joint work has begun, it will provide the volunteer and transportation equipment for when the distributions are needed. As well as the UTP assumes the kitchen facilities and the NGO undertakes the production of food dishes for deliveries.

Hernan Correa, President of Fundación Rescate de Alimentos Panama said “It fills us with satisfaction and joy to see that the day has finally arrived in which we make this dream come true”.

This is a project that began on August 6, 2016, after winning the first season of Top Chef Panama, and it was not until a few months ago when we were officially constituted as an NGO by the Ministry of Government.

Correa explained that this project belongs to all Panamanians; we are proud to announce that, to date, we have already exceeded one hundred thousand meals since the beginning of the pandemic in our country in March.
